Joan (Walsh) Blake, age 90, of Clifton, New Jersey died on April 12, 2024. Mourning her loss are her daughters Susan (Blake) Panek and her husband Walter J. Panek Jr. of Randolph, NJ and Patricia (Blake) Dunn and her husband Paul Dunn of Pompton Plains, NJ, her grandchildren Allison Panek, Shane and Jack Dunn, her brothers William Walsh and his wife Sandra Walsh of Clifton, NJ, James Walsh and his wife Claire of Kingsland, GA, sister-in-law Kathleen Blake of Lyndhurst, NJ and countless nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Joan is predeceased by her husband Oakley C. Blake, her brother-in-law Donald Blake of Lyndhurst, NJ, and sister-in-law Lorraine (Blake) Long of Seaside Park, NJ.
Joan was a part-time employee of Evergreen Manor, a senior housing community in Clifton, NJ, and worked there until the age of 84. She enjoyed her time there working as an integral part of the office staff and chatting with the residents. In addition to her time spent at Evergreen Manor, Joan was also an avid reader and an accomplished seamstress. She could often be found on the couch reading her latest novel or in her sewing room at her machine working on everything from Halloween costumes and bathing suits to stuffed toys and bridesmaids gowns. Joan was a proud woman who relished in the accomplishments of others, especially her daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren, and will be best remembered for her loving nature, eternal support and strong convictions. Her internal strength, even as her health declined, will live on in the hearts and memories of her loved ones.
Rest in peace, Mom, until we meet again!
